Creating an Interactive Exhibition Experience for Carmex

Carmex, a brand renowned for its iconic lip care products, set out to make a bold entrance into the Sports & Leisure market with its debut at The Running Show and National Outdoor Show. Stepping outside its traditional audience, the brand needed an exhibition stand that would not only highlight the water and air-resistant qualities of its products but also create an engaging and memorable experience for visitors.

EPM Agency was tasked with designing a vibrant, interactive space that would capture attention and encourage brand engagement. Working within a 4m x 5m footprint, we incorporated a pic ‘n’ mix machine alongside a merchandise area, allowing visitors to fill their bags before trying their luck at the digital game. Initially considering a spin-to-win mechanic, we pivoted to a fruit machine-style game, offering a more dynamic and brand-immersive experience.

Result

The response from Carmex was overwhelmingly positive. Our first design hit the mark, with the bold visuals and layout perfectly aligning with the brand’s vision. 
 

Only originally planned as a two-show collaboration for The National Running Show and National Outdoor Expo, the resounding success of both shows now means that Carmex are looking to reuse the stand in 2026.

By blending interactive engagement with brand storytelling, this project has helped Carmex seamlessly connect with a new audience while staying true to its heritage of quality and innovation.
