A global designer and manufacturer of world-class RF/microwave, microelectronics, and security technologies, APITech required an interactive touchscreen for use as a sales tool at physical exhibitions.

Using a platform-centric approach, EPM produced a digital and engaging touchscreen application that provided an overview of their products. Created in 3D using CAD, the product models included a satellite and helicopter. Alongside this, an intuitive user interface provided the user with a rich application experience.

The interactive touchscreen enabled users to effortlessly navigate between platforms that would dynamically appear when selected, highlighting further associated products. With annotated details, a 360 rotatable product model and additional information, visitors could use the touchscreen to discover the benefits of APITech’s products,

In the next evolution of the application, we adapted the original setup to cater for Mediapipe interaction while maintaining the integrity of the original application.

After COVID-19, many companies were looking at ways to allow users to interact with digital platforms without the use of touch interaction. From our ongoing research and development, we found that Google Mediapipe matched that requirement perfectly. Mediapipe kept the client’s overheads low by utilising AI algorithms and accessible hardware such as computer webcams.

By liaising with the API Technologies American team, we incorporated all of the requested product changes in time for an upcoming U.S. trade show.

The revised platform was successfully deployed for public usage and it has been well received at trade shows.

Easily reusable across trade shows with the ability to be updated with new information, we are currently evolving the application for web use to enable even more of APITech’s customers to access this effective tool.
